It Started With A Stitch
"My earliest memory of crafting is of a brown felt, cat hand puppet that I stitched in Infant’s school, with embroidered whiskers and sequins for eyes and from then on quite clearly I was smitten.
Mum was a crafter, cross stitch was her thing so likewise my sister and I would constantly want to give it a go, she had a cupboard full of kits that she’d lovingly collected and only now can I appreciate the dread that she must have felt we’d rummaged to find one that we wanted.
After studying textiles and art throughout school and college, I completed my Art Foundation and then winged my way off to Manchester to study Embroidery.
I stick to handmade techniques where I can and so machines are used only where necessary.
I stitch, crochet, pompom and craft a range of products & host workshops and parties for kids and adults. Crochet workshops are ran from my cosy cottage, always with home made cake! Pompom parties and workshops for larger groups can be accommodated in other venues, most commonly The Paint Box in Cleethorpes."
